Key West has something for everyone, from its stunning beaches to its quirky and fun activities and events.
If your idea of a perfect beach vacation is relaxing on the sand while listening to the ocean waves, Key West has plenty of beaches to choose from. Smathers Beach is the largest beach in Key West, offering plenty of space to relax and soak up some sun. Don’t forget the sunscreen since the sun rays are intense here. There are also plenty of galleries and museums to explore, as well as a variety of bars and restaurants with a small town boardwalk feel.
We stayed at the Casa Marina Hotel, a stunning old-world Caribbean-style seaside resort that had us intrigued at every turn. There are so many unexpected things to see at this hotel. You might find a sand sculptor creating a work of art just before sunset. You might also catch a glimpse of the few free-range chickens while enjoying (quite possibly the most delicious elegant and simple) breakfast on the lanai. Staying at this property also gave us access to a second (new) Hilton hotel property next door. The concierge will provide a fun little ride to the other resort on their guest golf cart!! Two private beaches and pools in one of the most exclusive and exotic parts of the United States? Yes, please!
No matter what type of vacation you’re looking for, Key West is sure to deliver. Who knew that a short drive from Miami you’d find a special tropical destination with stunning beaches, fun activities and events, and unique culture? It’s the perfect destination for a beach getaway. So pack your bags, forget your passport and get ready to explore this beautiful island in the Florida Keys!
